Requirements for E-Medical Visa India
To apply for an Indian e-Medical visa, you will need a valid passport, photograph, invitation letter from an Indian hospital, financial proof and medical prescription from Bangladesh.
Documents Required for E-Medical Visa India
- Passport: A valid passport with a validity of at least six months from the date of entry into India. At least two pages of the passport book should be blank. Read How to Apply for Bangladesh E-Passport Online.
- Photo: Two recent passport-size photographs must be submitted. The image must have a white background.
- Invitation letter: The letter from the hospital i.e. the invitation letter sent by the hospital in India where you are going to get treatment should be given as proof.
- Prescriptions and reports: Prescriptions from all the doctors you have treated in Bangladesh and test reports from all the tests you have done will be required. The papers should be arranged in order from oldest to newest.
- Financial proof: Proof of sufficient funds for medical expenses and stay in the country must also be provided. Last month’s bank statement may be submitted. Also, an Indian visa must have a minimum endorsement of 150 dollars. This endorsement must be from a bank. No money exchanger’s endorsement is acceptable.

Indian e medical visa fee is 8 dollars which is about 1000 taka in Bangladeshi taka. You must pay the visa fee with a USD payment-enabled credit or debit card.

To apply for Medical e-Visa in India you can follow the steps below:
Step 1: First, visit the official website of India e-Visa application website with is link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html. Then click Apply here for the e-visa option. Or, directly visit the Indian e- Visa Application link.
Step 2: Select the “Medical” e-Visa section and enter your personal details and passport details.
Step 3: Scan and upload a digital copy of your passport bio-page, a recent passport-size photograph, invitation letter from a recognized hospital in India.
Step 4: Pay the e-Visa fee using your Duel Currency Credit Card or Debit Card. You can check whether the visa fee has been successfully paid from this link Indian e-Visa Payment Verification.
Here you can check your visa fee payment with your Visa Application ID and Date of birth and download the Payment Receipt.
Step 5: Once the application is submitted, you will receive a verification email with a reference number. Keep the Visa Application Form and Application ID number safe for future reference.
Step 6: Medical e-visa usually takes 2 to 3 days to wait, after which you will receive the e-visa via email. To know the status of your e-medical visa application, you can check your Indian visa status online.

How to Get an Invitation Letter from an Indian Hospital
First, search on Google for the website and contact details of the hospital where you may want treatment. You may find a Contact Form or email address to contact. Contact them asking for an appointment with the doctor you want to meet. Describe your disease and attach all necessary details, doctor’s prescription, medical test reports, patient’s and attendant’s passport in the attached documents.
Usually, a special appointment form is provided on the website of reputed hospitals in India. There you can easily fill up the necessary information and upload required documents easily.
Remember, your prescription must say, “Advised to go abroad for better treatment” or something like that to get an appointment from Indian Hospital.
If Bangladeshi Doctors don’t advise you to go abroad, you’ll find difficulties in getting an invitation letter from India. So the doctor in Bangladesh who is treating you should write in the prescription that you are advised to go abroad for better treatment.
If your request is acceptable to that hospital, they will send you an invitation letter to come to India.
Medical Attendant E-Visa
Patient’s assistants and caregivers should visit India through a Medical Attendant e-visa. A maximum of 3 companions can accompany the patient. To get the attendant e visa, you have to show proof of a relationship with the patient such as birth registration, ID card etc.
It is usually easier to prove kinship in the case of close relatives. So try to take only close relatives of the patient such as son, daughter, brother or sister, father or mother etc.

The good news is, that the Indian government is trying to reduce the visa processing time for Indian e-medical visas. Though it is supposed to take a maximum of 72 hours, we may hope that the visa will be issued in less time in future.
